OVER A DECADE OF CREATING LIFESAVING SERVICE DOG TEAMS
In 2010, a Marine veteran with severe PTSD reached out to our founder and Army veteran, Mary Cortani, for help. He had been on another program waiting list for three years without being matched with a service dog. When Mary answered that call, she knew she had found her calling and Operation Freedom Paws (OFP) was born.
We remain committed to empowering veterans, first responders, children, and other individuals with disabilities, by teaching them how to train a rescued dog to support their specific disabilities, to save lives at both ends of the leash.
Our 48-week training program has evolved to provide our clients with a team of mentor-trainers, mental health therapists, temporary housing, food and gas cards, advocacy for ADA rights, access to trauma treatment with the leading medical experts at Stella, and veterinarian care for their service dogs, at no cost them. We have welcomed 498 clients and their family members into our program and rescued 396 dogs to be the healers by their sides (some clients enter the program with their own dogs who qualify).

Mark Turner is the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce President and a professional auctioneer. Mark combines his business and people skills to create a fun and lively auction environment where everyone enjoys some spirited paddle raising and competition to benefit our service dog teams.

The OFP ALLSTARS featuring Bay Area Favorite, Mikey Day!
The OFP AllSTARS banded together six years ago and the chemistry was magic! These guys love to entertain and give back to their communities, and they rock both. Their charity band is dedicated to doing benefits for non-profit organizations. As you probably figured out, OFP inspired their name and we are honored. The band is composed of Randy Thilmany on drums, Mark Hall and Tom Drake on guitar and vocals, Mike Palos on keyboards, Ken Vershegan on trumpet, and featuring Bay Area Favorite, Mikey Day on vocals and keyboards.
The band has been a big hit at our wine galas and virtual concerts. These guys can play everything from rock and roll and oldies to country and funk. The OFP ALLSTARS have a great time on stage and their performances are energetic, fun, and moving. We are thrilled to welcome these amazing supporters back to our stage!
